We join our brothers and sisters in Poland at this sad time in the history of the land of our forefathers.  Our deepest sympathy goes to the families of the victims of the plane crash in Smolensk.  Wesoly Lud had the honor and privilege of performing for Lech Kaczynski, the President of the Polish People's Republic, during a visit to Chicago, as well as for the President of Wspolnota Polska, Maciej Plazynski, at the 2008 International Festival of Polish Folk Ensembles in Rzeszow, Poland.  We share these memories with you and ask that we all pray for the families who survive their lost loved ones.
 
Eternal rest, grant unto them, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon them.
May they rest in peace.
Amen.
